If you ever get the chance to sail with Disney Cruise Line to Falmouth, Jamaica... take it! I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice now, and each time left me falling more in love with the island’s beauty, culture, and incredibly kind people. Whether you're up for an adventurous day or just want to sip rum and soak in the vibes, Falmouth offers a little bit of everything.

First Impressions: The Port Plaza Charm

The first time I stepped off the ship and into the heart of Falmouth, I was immediately enchanted by the vibrant little town surrounding the port. The plaza is filled with local shops, benches for lounging, and the sweet sounds of live Jamaican music drifting through the air. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and take it all in, which I happily did.

One of my favorite discoveries? A shop that sells all things Jamaica: rich coffee, velvety chocolate, spiced rum, and more. And yes, they offer free samples, including the rum. Let’s just say, I didn’t leave empty-handed.

Bucket List Adventures at Mystic Mountain

That same trip, my husband and I checked a major item off our bucket list: ziplining through the lush canopies of Mystic Mountain. If you’ve never soared above the trees of Jamaica, put it on your list ASAP. The views were stunning, the adrenaline was real, and the experience? A solid 10/10.

But we didn’t stop there. We also tried bobsledding (yes, like Cool Runnings) and rode the Sky Explorer, a scenic lift that gave us panoramic views of Jamaica’s coastline and rainforest. Mystic Mountain is one of those places that makes you feel alive in the best way possible. And the employees are SO nice and welcoming.

Second Visit: A Rum-Filled Reunion

The second time I docked in Falmouth, I kept it a bit more laid back, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. I returned to that charming little plaza, made a beeline for my favorite Jamaican shop, and yep, went straight for the rum samples. I ended up buying a few bottles to bring home, because nothing says “take me back to the Caribbean” like a glass of Jamaican rum in your hand.

Final Thoughts: Jamaica Has My Heart

Jamaica is more than just breathtaking beaches and thrilling excursions, it’s the people that truly make it special. Everyone I’ve met there has been warm, welcoming, and genuinely joyful. There's an appreciation for life and community that radiates from every smile and every "yah mon" you hear.

So whether you're ziplining through the treetops, sipping rum in a sun-drenched plaza, or just taking a quiet moment to watch the waves, Falmouth is a destination that stays with you.

Until next time, Jamaica. You’ll always be one of my favorite chapters in this boundless adventure.
