Sometimes, a show pulls you in before you even know the plot. And sometimes, it’s because Jeremy Jordan is playing the lead. That was all I needed to know before grabbing tickets to The Great Gatsby on Broadway, well, that and the chance to relive one of the most iconic American stories through a fresh, glittering lens.

I hadn’t read the book since eighth grade, but it turns out, you don’t need a recent refresher to be swept up in the world of West Egg. This production? It lives and breathes the glamour, heartbreak, and longing that made Gatsby unforgettable in the first place.

And the cast? Absolutely phenomenal.

Jeremy Jordan was every bit the Gatsby I hoped for -- charming, mysterious, and emotionally layered in a way that had the entire theater holding its breath. Eva Noblezada was the perfect Daisy, balancing fragility and allure with heart-wrenching precision. Samantha Pauly brought a delicious sharpness to Jordan Baker, and Noah J. Ricketts delivered a captivating, emotionally grounded performance as Nick Carraway.

We somehow snagged second-row seats, a total splurge, but worth every penny. Being that close to the stage, where you could see the smallest expressions, the shimmer of tears, the shake in a hand… it was almost surreal. You don’t just watch the performance from that close, you feel it.

While Jeremy and Eva have since stepped away from the production, the magic absolutely lives on. Ryan McCartan has taken over as Jay Gatsby, and Sarah Hyland (yes, from Modern Family) now portrays Daisy Buchanan. From everything I’ve heard, both actors embody their roles beautifully, and fans continue to rave about the experience. So if you're planning to go, rest assured, the Gatsby glow is still burning bright.

The Great Gatsby on Broadway isn’t just a revival, it’s a reimagining. A roaring, emotional, Gatsby-for-the-modern-age experience that made me laugh, tear up, and fall in love with theater all over again. If you’re headed to New York, do yourself a favor and put this show at the top of your list. Sparkling champagne, heartache, and Broadway brilliance? That’s the kind of night dreams are made of.
