From Beachside Cocktails to Jungle Trails: Living My Best Life in Cozumel, Mexico

If there’s one cruise port that surprised me with just how much it has to offer, it’s Cozumel, Mexico. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting twice now thanks to Disney Cruise Line, and both trips showed me a completely different (but equally unforgettable) side of this tropical gem.

Island Bliss at Islands Beach Club

My first visit to Cozumel was all about unwinding, and Islands Beach Club delivered the perfect escape. Picture this: a soft ocean breeze, a beach chair under a swaying palm tree, and aquamarine waves lapping at the shore. The vibe here was exactly what I needed. Pure relaxation.

Because we booked through Disney, our beach day came with a few magical extras: unlimited cocktails (yes, really!) and a waiter who brought drinks straight to our chairs. It was the kind of luxury that made it very hard to leave… and we nearly didn’t! We soaked up every last second, only making it back to the excursion bus with one minute to spare, no joke.

The club also had a buffet lunch included, a beautiful pool, and a ton of optional add-on activities for those looking for more adventure. Ziplining, snorkeling, paddleboarding, power snorkels, electric bikes. You name it, they had it. You could also wander through the Mexican market for souvenirs or visit the on-site photo department to grab snapshots of your day.

Adventure Awaits: Jungle ATV Excursion

The second time I returned to Cozumel, I traded beach chairs for dirt trails with the Jungle ATV Adventure, and it was a total thrill. We ventured deep into the wild side of the island, riding through lush jungle trails with the breeze in our faces. The paths we explored were once traveled by Mayan ancestors, adding a layer of rich history to the heart-pounding fun.

I’ll admit, I struggled a bit with the ATV controls at first, but the staff couldn’t have been more understanding. One of them stayed with me for the first few minutes until I got the hang of it, and then I was off on my own. Wind in my hair, adrenaline pumping, and completely in awe of the natural beauty around me.

The views were breathtaking, and the history lesson along the way gave the whole experience even more meaning. It wasn’t just an excursion. It was an adventure I’ll remember forever.
